Item Restricted An Investigation of Employee's Well-being in a Pet-friendly Workplace(2022) Diana Sofia Gómez de Fina; Hynes, Jennifer; Koç, Hasan; Faculty of Business Administration; Berlin International University of Applied SciencesAUTHOR-SUPPLIED ABSTRACT: Abstract: This thesis examines the analysis of the impact that pet-friendly policies in an organization have on the well-being of its employees. Nowadays, organizations are aware of the importance of creating a positive well-being environment as part of their organizational culture and the burnout and distress that entails the workload. Previous studies have shown the positivity in people's lives created when their level of well-being is high. Furthermore, research has proved that pets could increase well-being despite some constraints. Therefore, some organizations opted to implement pet-friendly policies. For data collection, a survey was chosen as a quantitative method approach, where 65 answers were collected by the thesis' author. The findings clearly stated positive and negative thoughts about having pets in the workplace. In addition, the respondents also provide some reasons. Finally, all the information was analyzed and tested to prove if a positive correlation exists when employees who feel comfortable with pets present positive well-being. With the convenience and efficiency of software like Adobe, designers have increasingly abandoned traditional, analog methods. The study questions whether this shift has compromised creativity and explores the potential for a balanced approach. The research employs a literature review, including the book "Nea Machina, Die Kreativ-Maschine" by Thomas and Martin Poschauko, which advocates a holistic design process. To gather practical insights, the study also includes a survey of 32 graphic designers and an in-depth interview with a Danish freelance graphic designer, Mark Busch Nielsen, who integrates analog methods in his work. The thesis aims to understand if combining digital and analog tools enhances both the creativity and efficiency in the work of graphic designers. The studies that cover the roles and responsibilities do not reach consensus amongst each other concerning role types and definitions. The purpose of this thesis is to find a suitable set of roles in the literature, to investigate which skills are representative for each role, and to identify a test that can predict the roles of its candidates. Using an analysis of variance (ANOVA), this thesis analyzed the EAM roles of a common EA framework for statistical similarities. Additionally, a survey was carried out among enterprise architects to identify skills of said framework that are representative for the analyzed roles. The resulting four roles and twenty representative skills were used to create a skill test proposal that can be used to survey an EA professional to predict their role. As the skill test proposal was not carried out, a follow-up study is suggested to offset its limitations and test its predictive power. These stigmas impact the perceptions and, in turn, the behavior of consumers. This research aims to look into the impact of these stigmas on consumer perceptions of menstrual and reproductive hygiene products and the impact it has on their behavior in South Asia, using the example of Pakistan, and the efforts of brands to tackle those stigmas. The paper analyzes the factors that contribute to the negative notions that are attached to these products. The paper, by the use of a survey, analyzes the change in consumer perceptions and behavior regarding menstrual products. The research looks into the different advertisements and campaigns by different brands to analyze the strategies used to market menstrual and reproductive hygiene products in Pakistan. The results discuss the implication of liberal versus conservative approaches to marketing. Both of the different approaches, when used properly, help in tackling stigma and creating awareness and education. The research further focuses on the importance for brands and organizations to understand the cultural boundaries and the consumer's ideology, beliefs, and sentiments while dealing with stigmatized products. Keywords: stigmas, menstrual hygiene products, reproductive hygiene products, consumer perceptions, consumer behavior, South Asia, Pakistan, brands, negative notions, survey, change, advertisements, campaigns, marketing strategies, liberal approach, conservative approach, awareness, education, cultural boundaries, consumer ideology, beliefs, sentimentsItem Restricted The Impact of Context on the Perception of Graffiti as Vandalism or Art, and Its Translation in Editorial Design(2023) Sofia Reghellin; Hinze, Martin; Rieß, Henrik; Faculty of Architecture and Design; Berlin International University of Applied SciencesAI-GENERATED ABSTRACT: Abstract: Graffiti has been a subject of debate, with conflicting views on whether it is art or vandalism. This thesis addresses the role of context in shaping the perception of graffiti, considering factors such as location, social norms, and purpose. The central argument is that graffiti can be both art and vandalism, depending on the context in which it is encountered. The research explores the impact of context on people's perception of graffiti and its representation in editorial design, which often promotes opposing messages. The goal is to foster a nuanced understanding of graffiti as a multifaceted art form, going beyond traditional stereotypes. The methodology involves a mixed-method research design, including a literature review, interviews with graffiti artists and experts, and a general survey to gauge public perception. By providing insights into the complexities of graffiti, this research can inform public policy, community initiatives, and design practices.
