Comprehending the contrast between the industrial architecture adaptive reuse and their relationship to interior design, that is reflected through sustainable innovations and clever layout organization. In the introduction chapter the thesis is going to define and research definitions and the history behind: Industrial Building, Adaptive Reuse and Communal Architecture, while closing the chapter with Berlin as a metropolitan city. Furthermore in the thesis there are two case studies on adaptive reuse projects transformed into Student Accommodation that are analyzed and used as inspiration for the Bachelor Project “TXL Community”.
