Item Restricted A Systematic Literature Review on Alternatives to the Shareholder Value Maximization Approach(2023) Harish Sharma; Koç, Hasan; Mantel, Peter; Faculty of Business Administration; Berlin International University of Applied SciencesAI-GENERATED ABSTRACT: Abstract: Maximizing shareholder value seeks to grow stockholder wealth by enhancing Company operations and making strategic decisions that benefit stockholders, the Company, and the business. This strategy promotes prudent management, transparency, and accountability. This concentrates on the evolution of the Shareholder-maximizing approach to corporate governance and its theoretical foundations, focusing on "shared value". Due to its extensive coverage across academic disciplines, Scopus is a crucial database for exploring new perspectives on corporate governance and management. This literature review encompasses Academic and professional publications from 2011 to the present, primarily utilizing academic articles sourced from Scopus. To ensure reliable results and a meaningful literature review significant research was included, while insignificant research was excluded. This study follows specific criteria for inclusion and exclusion to generate valuable insights into the research questions. After extracting data from Scopus, duplicate studies eliminated, and the data collected from the Scopus database by downloading a CSV file and selecting all pertinent information regarding shared value. Following data collection, Co-authorship Analysis based on countries, Co-occurrence Analysis based on keywords, and Bibliographic Coupling was conducted using VOS viewer software. Additionally, a trend analysis was performed in Excel to assess the potential scope of future publications. Addressing the first research question, the study examines the current relevance and usefulness of the Shareholder value maximization strategy. Trend analysis revealed that the number of articles written on this subject has increased over time. The statistics suggest a growing recognition of the shortcomings of the Shareholder-centric paradigm in dealing with intricate socio-economic and ecological problems. Addressing the second question, the concept of shared value, which benefits society and business, has garnered significant attention as a more holistic approach to decision-making that considers the interests of stakeholders. This approach aims to integrate economic strategies with social and environmental objectives. In today's digital age, students are increasingly exposed to technology, which, with many benefits, can also lead to technostress. This can harm students' overall well-being and academic performance. We thus argue that the impact of technology use on students should be better understood, and perform a systematic literature review (SLR), following the guidelines outlined in Okoli's 8-step procedure. Reviewing the articles addressing technostress among students, the findings indicate that technostress can lead to decreased focus and concentration, impaired sleep patterns, social isolation, and a decline in mental health. It can also contribute to a negative attitude towards technology, hindering students' ability to effectively leverage its potential for learning and productivity. The findings also suggest that the experience of stress is influenced by an individual’s perception of a stressful situation. Different individuals may perceive the same situation as stressful or non-stressful, depending on various factors such as time, place, and personal interpretation. This SLR provides a comprehensive and dependable resource for researchers, identifies existing research gaps, and proposes directions for future investigations.Item Restricted Blockchain Technologies in the Luxury Sector : LVMH Case Study(2022) Valters Gustavs Skujiņš; Koç, Hasan; Wagner, Evamaria; Faculty of Business Administration; Berlin International University of Applied SciencesAUTHOR-SUPPLIED ABSTRACT: Abstract: This research focuses on the systematic literature review of blockchain technologies and their applications in the luxury sector. A Systematic Literature Review(2023) Zahra Pourahmad; Hynes, Jennifer; Koç, Hasan; Faculty of Business Administration; Berlin International University of Applied SciencesAI-GENERATED ABSTRACT: Abstract: Technostress, the stress experienced by individuals due to the use of technology, has become a significant concern among students in today's digital age. With the widespread integration of technology into various aspects of education, students are increasingly exposed to a multitude of technological tools and platforms. While technology offers numerous benefits, such as improved access to information and enhanced learning experiences, it also brings forth unique challenges that can lead to technostress among students, which can harm students' overall well-being and academic performance. Students may experience decreased focus and concentration, impaired sleep patterns, social isolation, and a decline in mental health. Furthermore, technostress can contribute to a negative attitude towards technology, hindering students' ability to effectively leverage its potential for learning and productivity. This thesis follows the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, the guidelines outlined in Okoli's 8-step guide. Accordingly, a three-step framework was devised, consisting of Planning, Conducting, and Executing phases, to review articles addressing technostress among students to offer a comprehensive and dependable resource for researchers in the fields of psychology, Organizational Behavior (OB), and Information Science (IS), identify existing research gaps, and propose directions for future investigations. Ultimately, the findings presented in this thesis indicate that the experience of stress is influenced by an individual's perception of a stressful situation. Depending on various factors such as time, place, and personal interpretation, different individuals may perceive the same situation as stressful or non-stressful. These divergent reactions among individuals contribute to researchers obtaining different study results and findings. Two tables were created: Table 1 presents selected research papers on outcome bias, summarizing their main arguments and implications. Table 2 categorizes articles into clusters based on themes like judgment, emotion, cognitive biases, and decision-making processes. The research design followed a rigorous process to select high-quality and relevant articles related to outcome bias, considering specific clusters of interest. Inclusion criteria were defined to ensure selected studies contributed to research objectives and met specific requirements. The evaluation of study quality and validity involved examining research methodologies, potential biases, and limitations present in the literature. Ethical guidelines were adhered to throughout the review process. The findings indicate that outcome bias is prevalent and significantly influences evaluative judgments and cognitive mechanisms in decision-making. Practical implications include emphasizing process evaluation, fostering awareness, encouraging diversity, and implementing decision support systems to mitigate the impact of outcome bias. Addressing outcome bias can lead to improved decision quality and enhanced organizational performance. However, challenges such as resistance to change and data accessibility may be encountered. Future research should focus on specific industries, explore contextual factors, and assess the effectiveness of intervention strategies in reducing outcome bias. The knowledge derived from this review empowers decision makers to recognize and address outcome bias, enabling them to make more rational, informed, and successful decisions in various organizational contexts.
