| dc.description.abstract | This study looks into communication management on global virtual teams. The paper has through literature review, in-depth interviews of global virtual teams' managers, and secondary research identified the critical challenges in managing communication in global virtual teams. Three different challenges were quickly identified as the biggest obstacles for communication in global virtual teams: distance, trust, and culture. The paper provides insight on how to manage communication in global virtual teams successfully. The key findings from the literature review, interviews, and archival research on how to overcome the challenges in communication were; Communication planning and monitoring, Communication technology, Cultural communication training, Clear and frequent communication, and Building social relationships with the team members.
