Abstract
AUTHOR-SUPPLIED ABSTRACT: The Dark Triad consists of three personality traits: Machiavellianism, Narcissism and Psychopathy. These personality traits can be found in any individual not restricted to any age, gender or position of life. Such traits can be developed at any part of life – for some it comes into existence by their past traumas and experiences and some get influenced by ones company or society. This research looks at how these characteristics impact team performance, influence interpersonal relationships at work, and determine leadership styles and behaviours. Moreover, it delves into the actions that may be implemented to reduce the adverse effects of Dark Triad characters on the dynamics of organisations. This thesis follows Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology utilising a PRISMA Framework (PRISMA 2020, n.d.). The steps consist of title and abstract screening, full text-screening and data extraction. By following these steps, the total number of included reports is consolidated and displayed (N=63). This will represent the actual publications that I extracted data from. In order to give scholars a thorough grasp of the relationship between Dark Triad traits and organisational outcomes, this thesis summarises prior studies exploring the measures that can be taken to minimise the negative impacts of Dark Triad personalities on organisational dynamics. 1
